Smart Keyboard preferences

I love using the Smart Keyboard with my iPad, but I want to change certain preferences.  For example, I don't like auto-capitalization.  I can change keyboard preferences in General > Keyboards but that's for the ipad's internal keyboard.  How do I change preferences for the Smart Keyboard?

I tried adding a Keyboard in General > Keyboards but Smart Keyboard does not come up as an option.

Hi. Look for Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard. It only appears when the keyboard is connected.
