iphone locked when using iphoto

I cannot access photos on my iphone 5 using iphoto each time i connect phone to imac i get message phone is locked  but it is not locked and never has been . i have 3 iphones and all of them recieve the same message.

i have tried disc utility but nothing changed .i have repaired iphoto library just in case that was the problem.i have updated 1 of the phones to latest software upodate but nothing chages . I assume that the problem must be with the imac but i have run out of ideas.  help please
