a newbeie question. how do i format a dvd...
a newbie question. first time on this site.
how do i format a new dvd+r on my macbook pro
buying from my grand-daughter not sure what system. i have idvd and imovies.
1. Put the DVD in the DVD drive.
2. Open Finder
3. Open Applications
4. Open Utilities
5. Open Disk Utility
6. Click the DVD you want to erase in the left column.
7. Click the Erase tab. (Quick Erase is checked by default - for a new DVD this is correct)
8. Click the Erase button
Once completed, you now have a formatted DVD
thanks for such a quick reply, tried but no luck. after disk utility on the left shows super drive and icon. tried both and erase quickly or complete is not available to me.
should have said disk in this drive can't be erased, sorry
Oh, okay. If it says the disk cannot be erased, that means the disk has read/write protection on it.
Deleted.
