Verify backup?

I apologize if this has been asked before. My phone is currently full with pictures and videos. I have dowloaded them all to my macbook and backed up my computer via Time Machine. How can I verify that the pictures and videos are in fact there? I tried to open Photos in Time Machine but couldn't see what was in the application.

I know I sound neurotic, but I'm too afraid to delete any content off my phone until I know it's truly backed up!
