Lack of assistance for a MacBook Air display is...

Two horizontal lines always shows on the screen of my MacBook Air (2011 version). I have scheduled a meeting for repairing it. The reservation has been managed by Apple Genius Bar, which 'knows' all the features of my notebook, including the year of production. Once arrived at the service store, they said that my notebook is considered "Vintage" by Apple and I should seek for assistance somewhere else.

Anyone knows how can Apple schedule a meeting for a declared hardware issue and then say on site they cannot repair it because the notebook is considered 'Vintage'? Anyone can suggest how to have it repaired in the Parisian area (France)? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
