QUICK QUESTION: Are there any other users having problems with random reboot/freezes on Mac Pro 2013?

THE HISTORY:

From day 1 I have had random crashes and freezes on my VERY EXPENSIVE Mac Pro 2013. Workload for me was very high at the time, so I did a full OS transfer from my MacBook Pro and thus blamed the crashes on some incompatibility.

The problem persisted and at some point I decided to do a clean install of Sierra. This did not resolve the problem unfortunately. I struggled on with this random reboots some more.

Then I decided to do something more active about it and took the machine in to the local iStore for testing. Left it there for a day and not surprisingly, the result came back that nothing was found to be wrong. I suppose I must have been imagining the problem then.

Took the machine back to the office and within a few hours of working it crashed again.

Being my everyday work machine, it is rather difficult to part with it for more than a few hours at a time, but I am now so desperate that I will transfer my work to a Windows machine in order to send this Mac Pro in for extensive testing to the local agents. I have had interaction with them before for an iPhone6S battery replacement under worldwide replacement program and are thus not hopeful judging by the service received.

Sent unit in to Apple Certified repair centre.

They replaced both graphic cards.

Problem seems resolved. Only time will tell...

I had the same problem with my MacPro 8x3.0GHz. Solution was, that the graphic card had to be replaced.

Gulliver, thanks for replying. How did you go about the process?

Since it is a random problem, it is quite hard to convince Apple to do the replacement.
