What is the best MacBook to buy for travel

I have a MBA that needs replacing. I'm going to buy a new MacBook and would like some options on what to buy given these needs:

1. I travel fair amount and LOVE the 2 lb. weight of the MBA, so would like something as light as possible.

2. When in the office I keep the computer closed and use two 24" displays. This has always been quirky with me having to turn them on and off sometimes, and other times one or the other doesn't come back on after sleep. I'd really like a new computer that is rock solid with a couple of external displays.

3. I'm not exactly a power user (just very occasional video editing for example) but I always have 8-9 apps open, for example Word, Excel, Safari, Messages, Photoshop, Photos, Notes, PowerPoint and SugarSync (a backup app).

So - any strong recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Frank

Hi,

I recommend the 2017 13" MacBook Pro, which is a "stronger" machine than the MBA, and is virtually the same size and weight. It supports two external displays. I can't promise any computer is going to play nicely with your displays every time, but there's no reason to think this one won't.

Well, the MacBook Pro is a pound (50%) heavier than the MacBook. It seems like the MacBook has enough power... wouldn't it run two external displays too?
