Duplicate??

I have iTunes 10.6.3 on Lion.

I recently added some music to my library, and I noticed a problem. In grid view, some artists are duplicated, and their songs are spread out over the multiple artist tiles. Like this

Any help would be appreciated.

I solved it, drag the songs out of iTunes, delete them from itunes, and drag them back in.

Chances are the album has tracks where the main artist is joined by someone else on a track - you therefore get multiple artists listed.

Select all the album covers and then right click on one and do Get Info.

Add the main artist name to the Album Artist section and they should all merge.

Thank you, but I have already done that. I have selected all of them and I made as many metadata fields as possible the same.

I see the solution is to REMOVE the songs and RE-Add them. Yes, that works by it is a "defect support system". Shouldn't have to be this way. Still happens to me in version 12.6.2 five years later. Been happening for MANY MANY years now.
