Delete iOS apps on itunes?

Since the newest version of iTunes on the Mac no longer updates iOS apps, can I delete them from my computer to save the 45GB of hard drive space?

Yes.

You could copy them to an external drive first in the unlikely event that you should want to reinstall one of them at some point further down the line after the developer has pulled it out of the store, but it probably isn't worth the effort.
