15" MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) with the Radeon Pro 460 4096 MB graphics card. Since upgrading to Sierra 10.12.4, it no longer works with my external monitor (Dell U2713HM). I had been using a DisplayPort to USB-C adapter without issue until the upgrade. I also bought a separate DisplayPort to USB-C cable to make sure it wasn't an issue with the adapter or cable.

Plugging in the cable causes the screen on the Mac to flicker. The external monitor wakes up for a second, but then goes back to sleep. The monitor works fine with my desktop computer (not a Mac). I have nightshift turned off since I've read about that causing issues.

This is extremely frustrating because it used to work just fine. Has anyone else encountered anything like this? Do you have an advise?

Did you try rebooting your Macbook?

Yes, I have tried rebooting my Mac several times. I'm assuming there was a driver issue introduced with Sierra 10.12.4. I'm hoping there are other people that has run into this same issue.

Hi, I have a MBP Touch Bar 13" and this Dell screen. It is working fine with a DP to USB-C adapter for the moment on the last Sierra update. BUT, today, when I unplugged the screen from my MBP (clamshell), my MBP screen began flickering like crazy and I couldn't do anything but restart the computer.

Now I really wonder if the issue is with the Macbook or the screen...

We are a company with macbooks and we have the same problem. With other laptops we do not have this problem. When we connect the macbooks to the Dell screen with usb c connector we will not get a signal.
