Siri not working on Mac Sierra

I've installed yesterday Mac OS Sierra and after Siri activation, even if i click on icon or press keys shortcut to use it, nothings happen. I also tried to change language and voice but without success.

Mac Os Sierra 10.12

MacMacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

Language Portuguese

Just found out something that solved this for me.

Apparently, my notification center process was disabled for some reason, I've enabled it via terminal by typing:

launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist

killall NotificationCenter

After that I disabled and enabled Siri via the settings menu and it seems to be working now.

Hope this helps,

Shuky

I'm experiencing the same issue with the latest Macbook Pro model with English language.

See this page for the list of Siri compatible countries.

Thanks!  This worked for me, after a restart.

Ya this worked for me too. Thanks!

Had the same problem and solved it now as well.

I purposely de-activated ”notification center” in Mac OS El Capitan and subsequently therefore in Mac OS Sierra  and al though the Siri icon was on the dock and at the right top part of the menu bar in Mac OS Sierra, it just didnt do anything when I clicked on either. I also tried changing the languages to no avail.

Then I found this post with the Terminal command as expressed in the post of Shykyk (which then activated Notification Center), and when toggling Siri on and off in settings, Siri became active.

Thanks for the solution on the matter, very much appreciated!

Thank you! Now Siri its working!!!

I've done everything shown above, but still no Siri.  I did notice, after entering launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist in Terminal, I get  Permission denied.  Any comments?

This did not work for me. After it failed the first time I tried restarting as well. No help there.

Since posting the above, I've tried everything listed in Apple forums, other Apple help, and all google responses; all to no avail.  Is it possible my Sierra upgrade somehow got corrupted during download?  Is it possible to download Sierra again, and reinstall?  App store won't let me download since I already have it installed.  any suggestions?  I'd really like to use Siri on my iMac.

My whole system has been operating quite slow since the update, but my favorite part is how I tell Siri to open iTunes, and it says that I don't have the app.  It doesn't even recognize preinstalled apps.  Ain't that something.  I also love how my camera hasn't been working since the el Capitan update.  Mac just gets better and better each and every time!

To fix your Siri problem, rebuild the Spotlight index.

I have the same problem too, it is not solved yet?

Thank you.

I downloaded Sierra again and reinstalled it over the existing Sierra.  After that, Siri works fine.
