iTunes 12.7 BIG Mistake Re: No Apps

It not only makes for a lot more work and inconvenience, but should I leave my home for any length of time, as in a vacation,  I would have to waste all of my Data Plan simply for the synchronize Apps function alone.

It's garbage, I'm going back to 12.6 if I can without incurring problems.

It is possible to revert to iTunes 12.6.2, although iTunes 12.7 is likely to be required for iOS 11. See the iTunes installers section of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for roll back advice. Any iTunes U content has been moved into podcasts by 12.7 and would need to be manually restored to the previous paths to work properly with the older library file.

I don't understand what a Data Plan has to do with this? The general presumption is that you will have unlimited access to Wi-Fi at no cost when you want to update your device. If iTunes fetches an app update which you then sync to your device over USB, it will have fetched more data from the Internet than if you had updated directly on the device.

Well there could be situations where people only have the choice of a cellular data plan for their device updates for an extended period but may not have unlimited  plans.

Simply updating Apps could use a large slice of their plans as the apps are getting mighty large in some cases.

What I'm saying is did anyone get asked whether or not they thought iTunes was becoming too cluttered?

I don't recall seeing complaints, but I guess there must have been some.

People have been complaining that iTunes is too cluttered for years. The intention is that you will manage the device over Wi-Fi, not cellular. If you've got broadband for your computer you can have wireless for your device.

Good point.

I agree. The removal off apps in iTunes was a **** idea!!

organising dozens of apps on a small iOS screen is ridiculous!

more importantly: how do you sync documents to apps like pages or adobe acrobat to your iOS device now????

The File Sharing area for transferring data between your computer and compatible apps remains.

See also the Manually add items from your computer section of Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes - Apple Support. This can be used to copy apps, ePubs, iBooks, pdfs, tones, and possibly more, from your computer to your device. You can also use Dropbox, iCloud Drive, etc. And for compatible content on the web open it there from Safari in the appropriate app instead of downloading to your computer to transfer to the device.

Not Apps I fear...possibly others but can't check right now.

iTunes is only cluttered if you don't know how to organize it. A lot of people complain because they are too lazy to do the research and correct the problem themselves.

I didn't say I was complaining. I have my non-iTunes Media organized in the iTunes Media folder too, and neater than Apple does it.

You can look at Re: Can I still shop for iOS apps from the iTunes store on my Mac?.

This is suppose to make iTunes "more efficient". We can no longer access my apps on my computer. It *****, I know. I might as well delete my Mobile Applications folder on my computer.

Assuming we all have unlimited access to WiFi is a fatally flawed assumption.
