How do I focus a picture on desktop on new iMAC?

I purchased a new iMAC and used a picture from photos for the screen saver.  It is not focused.  How can I sharpen picture on desktop?

If the picture is of lower resolution than your modern screen, it will appear grainy. You can check the image resolution by right-clicking on the file and selecting Get Info.
