Why does my RAID card utility show "battery is ...

I installed a used battery in my Mac Pro RAID card because the original one wouldn't charge.  Now I am getting a "battery is precharging and can't be read" message when I boot the computer.  The write cache is disabled.  Here is the data on the card:
