Copy pdf to ibook in Windows with 12.7

With Itunes 12.7 for windows it is now impossible to drag pdf's to itunes in order to get them into ibooks.

Now i understand that i can open a pdf with dropbox, but that just downloads the pdf and opens a viewer that swipes pdf's down page by page when reading.

Ibook manages the pdf as if it's a magazine; right to left, like a real book.

So how can i do this without reverting to third party apps like Anytrans and without first uploading to icloud ?

(i just want to drag them onto my ipad locally)
