sierra crash when after sleep mode

My MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) after update to sierra crash when after sleep mode.

i try to reset SMC sama NVRAM but still crash.

any suggest to solve it?

thanks

When you say 'crash', what do you mean?

Probably something that is running in the background. open the black apple at the top left. Choose system preferences, then users and groups, and then login items. Removed everything in that window.

You can add apps and programs back to the login items window one by one to see what is causing the crash.

You can also start the computer up in safe boot (hold down the shift key when starting up) which will make the computer start with no third-party apps. If that solves the issues, you just need to disable the third party apps and add them back one by one until the issue re-occurs.

crash what I mean is when I close my lid and sleep mode for 4-6 hours, I open again my MacBook not wakes up but it show white screen.

I removed everything app in startup but still white screen.

Okay. Next thing to try is resetting the NVRAM. Turn the computer off.

Push the power button. When you hear the startup sound, hold down the COMMAND, OPTION, P and R keys. Keep holding those 4 keys until you hear the startup sound for a second time.

This will reset the memory so that the computer will restart properly. Let us know if there are any further issues.

I had same issue, MacOS Sierra was hanging up after sleep, (i could see everything on my screen, but I wasn't able to click or switch to any other screen, cursor was still working)

It solved with following solution

Push the power button. When you hear the startup sound, hold down the COMMAND, OPTION, P and R keys. Keep holding those 4 keys until you hear the startup sound for a second time.

thanks

Tony

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution, but likely am having at least a similar problem with my Mac Mini (late 2014 & 8 GB RAM running 10.12). It goes to sleep an all is good. little white light is on.  Bluetooth speaker is connected.  As soon as I hit a key to wake, white light goes off, bluetooth speaker disconnects, nada.  I have to press the power button and it boots from the sleep image. I tried setting it to not put the hard drive to sleep. Reset the SMC, NVRAM, etc.  Nothing.

This started happening immediately after upgrading to Sierra.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  The logs look clean. First entry after power button is something about power failure and reboot from image.  Nothing really before that.

I have the 'crash/turns off' upon wake issue - I've had it since Yosemite, but it persists with Sierra on my 2011 MacMini.

As people have pointed out, start-up apps may be an issue.

I had this on a previous Mac and it was then related to USB devices - specifically, when my wireless Logitech mouse dongle was plugged into my Apple keyboard - when I moved it to the back of the Mac, it was fine.

I only installed Sierra a couple of days ago and was disappointed this is still in there. I'll try disconnecting all USB devices and slowly adding back to see if it's the old issue returned.

Go into the energy saver module in settings and check the box that prevents going to sleep. It does not fix the problem but prevents continued hard crashes. I have an iMac so sleep is not something I miss. Might be different if I had a MBP.

Turn Bluetooth OFF before it goes to sleep. Trust me, this has fixed the issue two others users were having.

Almost identical to my crash report. I stopped the crashing by going into energy saver module and checking the box to prevent sleep. It does not solve underlying issue and may be inconvenient with a laptop, but it stopped the crashing, which is never good for a device. If apple cops to a software issue with Sierra and fixes this bug then can go back to sleep...

So, have you tried turning Bluetooth OFF before sleeping?

I Work at an iMac with Bluetooth trackpad and keyboard. It may work but irritating workflow. Easier for me to just prevent sleep. If I had a MBPit would be different.

I understand, but if turning off Bluetooth fixes the issue for you as it has for three others now, then you should submit feedback to Apple at https://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html to let them know and hopefully get it fixed eventually.

I had the same problem on my late 2009 iMac. I tried everything. EVERYTHING.

  • Reset SMC
  • Run Etrecheck and clean up all the old "junk"
  • Reinstall Sierra three times
  • Boot in safe mode
  • Delete Finder plist files

It came to the point that Finder was crashing every time my Mac woke up after sleep. The only thing that solved the problem was to do a full system restore from Time Machine back to El Capitan.
