Why Wacom tablets do not work properly on Sierra

Since i updated to Sierra i been experimenting problems with my Wacom tablets, Adobe CC, C4D and other stuff and. I been using multiple Wacom tablets -- ,( Intuos, Intuos pro 4 Medium, Bamboo and Cintiqs), and with all of them is very difficult to click and sometimes i just double click or select everything which is very annoying.

I tried also to uninstall other drivers that could be causing problems, installing the wacom drivers several times and also almost past versions, using first aid and rebooting with cmd alt PR, but nothing of this steps worked.

Do anybody have an idea whats wrong?

Check with the vendor and see if they have addressed this problem with the new OSX.   There was a similar problem with Wacom hardware when El Capitan was introduced.

Ciao.

I have the same issue with all my macs using intros 3 tablets, just got of the phone with Wacom support, they are aware of this 'double clicking in Sierra' issue. They emailed me with the following response, about to give it a go...

follow these steps in order to install the correct Wacom driver in your system:

  1. Make sure that the tablet is not connected to the computer.
  2. From the desktop go to the "Go" -> "Applications" and there if you find the Wacom folder listed, open the "Wacom Tablet Utility" and click on the bottom "Remove" button
  3. Restart the computer
  4. Download and install the last driver here: https://cdn.wacom.com/u/productsupport/drivers/mac/professional/WacomTablet_6.3.1 5-2.dmg
  5. Restart the computer again
  6. When the system is fully loaded again, connect the tablet to the computer and see if everything is working

Hey Hatched i got a mail from Wacom with same instructions, i already tried to manually search and delete all wacom old drivers, and installed an older version that they said was more stable but still it does not work, i hope they release a new update to sierra fixing all this incompatibilities soon. I need to get back to work normally.

I had the same issue and followed these instructions. It worked for me, for now — fingers crossed it sticks.

15" retina MacBook Pro

macOS Sierra 10.12.1

Wacom Intuos 4 tablet

Unfortunately didn't help me. Just for future readers' info, I have an Intuos 3 on an iMac. My exact problem is that the Wacom will not reliably bring windows to the front by clicking on them. I have to engage the dock - just momentarily will do - and then go back to the window I want to use. Otherwise it ignores my click. The mouse works for the same action, so it's just the Pen it seems, not an OS setting. Very annoying!

I've been having issues with these drivers too. The latest 6.3.20 driver doesn't register my Intuos 5 until after I have logged in.

Going back to the 6.3.15 driver fixed the problems.

I have same problem :-( after I install the newest driver I reboot and the tab can't detect.. please someone help me what to do if only I re-install and didn't reboot so can work properly (I just keep the browser for asking for reboot open) and after I  work I turn of Mac and turn on again same happens tab still can't detect :-(

'If you have a problem clicking and dragging in Sierra with the 6.3.20-8 driver, please try to open the mouse preferences and move the doubleclick speed slider to 'fast'. Then try again. We have noticed that a slow setting might cause penclick issues.' Found this and worked for me.

I had this problem with my Intuos Pro M (on late 2011 MBP 15" with MacOS Sierra)

I've downloaded an older driver version and it seems to work out

After deinstalling / restarting with PRAM reset / installing older driver / restarting.

Here is the driver which I used: https://bit.ly/2d5UMQa

Hope that this might be the solution for some of you.

I believe the double click setting is under accessibility, not mouse under system prefs.  I set mine to about 75% and things seem better.

THANK YOU for posting this; fixed my problem!! Had been on with Wacom tech support for 2 days trying to get this fixed...

Thanks for posting this. I called support and they sent me a replacement, which displayed the same issue with clicking. Moving the mouse double-click speed slider to "fast" has made a night-and-day difference! I'll report back if there are any issues.

By the way, I attempted multiple versions of the driver–even the latest–without success.

This is the only thing that has helped. System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse/Trackpad: Set Double Click Speed slider all the way to Fast.

I was going insane for so long before.. randomly opening files, making mistakes in design files. Wacom only offered rolling drivers back which no longer worked. Changing this Accessibility setting seems to work. I guess Apple thought they were helping people double click more easily (never had a problem with that) which made tablet pen's sensitive input register as multiple clicks! Ugh. Thanks, Apple…
