Do all ram sticks have to be from the same maker?
Do all ram sticks have to be from the same maker? For example, I have the default 4GB that comes with mid 2011 21.5" iMac, but similar to dr_sanch I'd like to upgrade to 12GB. So do I need to get the same brand as the default memory or can I purchase 8GB from crucial without worry?
Thanks for your help in advance.
I've never worried about matching the manufacturer - only that I was buying the correct RAM from a vendor known for high quality products. Crucial fits the bill quite well.
