how do you correct dictation mistakes?

when dictation how do you correct dictation mistakes? does this have to be done manually?

I enjoy the ability to dictate text as well, and yes, corrections need to be done manually.

It sounds like are familiar with the basics of dictation.  What helps me is learning more of the commands.

Alas, I don't see commands that allow me to navigate and correct previous text, although once highlighted you could dictate the correct text.

Ambiguous text is underlined in blue. If the text is wrong, click it and select an alternate. You can also type or dictate the correct text.

Hey, Apple!  I don't expect Dragon on my phone but without a correction function, iOS dictation is  practically worthless as an alternative input method.  Even my landline telephone dictation system in 1979 had a correction command.  "Correction [last word]" would work, I imagine, and shouldn't be too hard to code. It's too bad because the word recognition is surprisingly good.  Having to drop out of dictation for even the simplest errors is a PITA.
