Filming using camera app and an external microp...

Hi,

We would like to use our iPads (Air 2 or Mini 4) for filming student projects.  The biggest problem we are running into is not being able to hear the students and we very much like to use an external microphone.

We have tried several different microphone configurations plugged into the audio jack and nothing seems to work.

Does anyone know of an external microphone that works with the camera app?

We've tried:

padcaster YT-1300

Tonor dual lapel mic

We would also like to be able to use them with 3.5mm extension wire and splitter so that the camera does not have to be on top of the student.
