Apple Watch is stuck on “too many passcod...

I have the Series 2, and I have to take my watch off for work and put it in my pocket. When I took it out at the end of my shift it said “Too many passcode attempts” and prompted me to reset the watch and pair it to my phone. I went through the process of resetting it and I proceeded to unpair it from my iPhone and now the watch is still stuck on the screen (even after resetting) and now it’s unpaired from my device so it’s not even showing up in the watch app or in Bluetooth! What did I do and how can I fix it?
