Videos in browsers on Mac keeps freezing visually?

So recently, when I want to play videos online like on youtube, the video will play but just the video freezes while the audio keeps playing. The browser is fully functioning and I can move my mouse around. I’ve tried restarting my Mac multiple times but no luck. The only way it will continue to play the video normally is if I manually put my mouse on the video play bar. Can anybody tell me how to fix this problem? It’s just started happening a few weeks ago.
