i did not purchase anything, why iTunes take my...

When I check my credit card account,I find that iTunes charged money from my card for 8 times. I did not purchase anything.  I had call apple, they confirmed that they made this mistake. That purchase was not me, they only refund me two times ,why? Apple company is a large company, is this how apple earned their money and became a multi billion enterprise ? Is this how apple keeping their costumer's information safely ?
