i have an exchange email account as well as an ...

I have been traveling and just realized when I got back that I haven't been getting emails on my exchange account on either my iMac or my iPad although I have been getting emails that have been sent to my iCloud account.  Any ideas on what is going on?

I have a MacOs Sierra 10.12.6 and my iPad air has Yosemite.

Could I some how, inadvertently, have disabled my exchange account?



You need to sign into your Exchange email account with an App-specific password, would be my guess. As of June 15, Apple instituted an additional layer of security for 3rd party apps or devices that have access to iCloud data.

 

Those apps and devices must be signed in with an App-specific password, which can be generated on your Apple account as long are running Two-Step Verification or Two-Factor Authentication.

 

You simply go to your Apple ID account page: Apple - My Apple ID, and click on "Generate Password" under the App-specific password section. You type in the App-specific password when you sign in instead of your Apple/iCloud ID password.

 

 

Again, not 100% sure if that is the issue here, but worth a shot!
