IOS Mail

I have an iPad mini 4, an iPhone 6S--both running the most recent version of IOS available: 10.3.3.

When the upgrade to IOS 10 became reality, my ability to delete all messages in my inbox vanished. All that remained was select all to mark as read or unread, or flag for whatever purpose.

We used to be able to select all and move to Trash. I am an intelligent adult. I don't need Apple to police how, when and if I delete messages.

I went into a support chat with Apple this morning to ask them directly about this issue. It is not available and will not be made available. The only way to delete messages from our inbox is to select them individually. Period. Oh, goodie. At first, the support person talked to me like I was stupid--which I really hate--and tried to tell me how to click edit and mark everything individually, then I explained AGAIN that he wasn't answering my question, because I already knew that. I was asking why after marking all messages the trash, and/or delete function was grayed out. He had to go research it. Then he came back with that function isn't available.

Is anyone using a different email app in IOS that works well and synchs with OS? ::sigh:: Thanks.

Hi. There is a way to do this, as described in this link: Re: iOS 10 mail...no delete all.

I use AltaMail, which is a full-featured mail app. However, no 3rd-party app will "sync" with the OS in the way that Mail does.
