iOS 11.0.1 glitchy on iPad Air2

Upgrading to iOS 11.0.1 has seen a glitchy performance in animation. Pushing the home button results in a delay and stuttering animation. Same happens when I go into multitasking mode. I clicked reduced motion to eliminate this, but performance still slow.
