Help Icloud problem

My son let a friend log into the friends Icloud account on my son's phone, now they do not remember the password. I backed up my son's phone last week, so I figured I would reset it, but it is coming up asking for that password. Now I can not get text (verification) on that phone and account recovery is going to take 95 hours.  any suggestions?

Why doesn't your son's friend go through the steps to recover his password:

They will not do that, the family has not been cooperative on this, I am not sure my son will be around this kid too much in the future.  Sorry, by ths point I am a little frustrated, i know these things are there for good reason.

It sounds like the "friend" has Activation Locked the device. Your best bet is to take the original sales receipt, the device, a photo ID, and an explanation of what happened to your closest Apple Store. They should be able to remove the Activation Lock for you.

Otherwise, you are not going to be able to recover the device.
