iTunes 12 can't delete artwork

I'm trying to update my library and it's not letting me clear my album artwork or delete it manually. I tried pressing backspace like someone else suggested but it doesn't work until I go into Google or something and find the correct album artwork, paste it onto the album, then delete the old picture in the gallery. Any fixes on this yet?

I tried the backspace thing and it worked fine for me. I just right clicked on the song chose artwork clicked on the pic once so there is a blue line all the way around the pic and hit backspace.

Does it matter if the artwork you want to delete is first or second? I just tried and it didn't highlight blue

Ctrl-X

Hi, this is what i do: get info/ artwork, highlight the artwork, delete button. Hope it helps.

Sometimes I have to keep clicking on the artwork while tapping ctrl-x to delete.  This is all way more complicated than it should be.

To delete artwork from multiple songs:

same here! it's so obnoxious. and not just on the artwork - around it too

I cannot highlight my album artwork....so it will NOT allow you to delete, copy, or paste in this new iTunes version.  I can only add new artwork, then I have to keep multiple images.  The only way to show my new/updated art I just added is to touch and drag to first position.  Again, it will NOT truly highlight (with blue around it like is posted here).  FYI, using a windows operating system PC.

I have to click around a couple times to get it highlighted. Once that happens, I just click delete and it goes away. I have Windows too. The ctrl-Y doesn't work

Do what Turbogame said. When you're in the  "Get info" window the album art at the top left corner should be clickable and removable. You can do this for multiple songs.

None of this works for the new version (12.0.1.26)!  I have used most these methods in the past, but with this latest version of iTunes (the one with the red icon) none of these methods work. The issue is you cannot highlight the artwork. you can grab it and move it all around (I even tried dragging it to the recycle bin, but you cannot highlight it.

The whole thing is screwy now. It hides half your info fields and you have to add them back (FOR EVERY TRACK!). What's wrong with the way things were? Everything worked fine. No one is ever satisfied with what they have. They are always changing things...SMH

Art highlights for me when I click it although admittedly it did seem reluctant to do so when I'd first installed iTunes 12. Either way clicking was enough to select it even if I didn't get visual feedback. Ctrl-X or Backspace will delete the large artwork images on the artwork tab. Backspace or Delete will delete using the small image at the top left.
