Probable playlist bug

I have exported a playlist using iTunes 11.0.3. When I import the playlist all songs are imported except those where the filename contains the % character.

I believe this was working OK in older versions of iTunes.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour, as it's probably a bug?

Not completely sure. If you want an ealier version of itunes to make things easier, you can still do that:

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

iTunes 10.7 Download:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576

iTunes 10.6 Download:

https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1427

Hope this helps.

This bug still exists even though I reported it over 2 years ago. I am now running iTunes v.12.3.2.35 64-bit for Windows.

Can anyone confirm the behaviour described previously.

I submitted a bug report back in 2011.

Exporting as m3u8 may improve the results a little, but iTunes seems to have issues importing when the path includes the percentage symbol and certain accented characters.

See ImportM3U for a script that may work better than iTunes' own import routine.

This bug still exists today with v.12.6.2.20. Importing m3u or m3u8 still does not work and ImportM3U.vbs throws an error.

Has anyone ever got this to work or have a workaround?
