My iPhone 5S, battery drop, Apple Watch Series 1

I have iPhone 5S, the battery started to drop. It is still worth to buy Apple Watch Series 1? I just hope with the notifications send to the watch, I will less checking my iPhone which will save a little battery. Thank you
