INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY....TRUE OF FALSE??

Im wanting to buy the new ipad 3 from the US and take it home with me to UK. but i want to make sure i will be covered if something goes wrong with it in the UK. some people say yes apple provide international warranty, but some people say no, you only have warranty in the country you bought it in. Im confused....can you guys help?

I would just go to support on the apple page and call. I'd think it does, but might as well find out with certainty by just calling apple.

Apple Warranty

https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/

unfortunately i cant call as the job im doing only has internet access and we have no access to phones!! Ive tried looking for a customer services email so i could contact them direct but i cant seem to find one on the support page, there just all phone numbers?? and ive checked out the apple.com/legal/warranty  and it just states the warranty for each country...i cant seem to find anywhere that clearly states INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY

i purchesed (Wihtout contract) an iphone4s from USA with extend warrenty and using it in India. Now phone has issues. Apple customer support is telling me that I have to ship it to USA if the phone has to be exchanged or repaired. This is vey disturbing international warrenty covers only technical support. i am shocked!!!!!

There is no "international warranty" of any sort on the iPhone. Each iPhone is, as has been said many times in many threads here and on many other web sites, specific to the country in which the iPhone is purchased. That is stated in the warranty statement for the iPhone as well. So for a US iPhone, you will indeed have to send it to someone you know in the US to take or send to Apple and then send it back to you.

Regards.

The terms of the warranty are governed by the country in which it was purchased. That isn't unusual at all. And evidently it is covered based on your comments.

I am not legally challanging the warranty as its written in paper and thats some thing I signed. In my openion for mobile devices you need warrenty to cover damges in a traveeling country if you have a authorised retailer there. Because mobile devis can break in a travleiing country and you might need replacement for being functional in a travelling country.

For example laptops are covered under international warrenty.

You "need"? No, you want. And unfortunately your wants and reality aren't meshing.

Laptops in general have the same hardware and firmware wherever they are sold and hence can be serviced just about anywhere. Cellphones do not, since there are different carriers in each country and hence different locks and often different cell frequencies (particularly for LTE) and in some cases completely different technology. Hence the phone is usually different in each country and hence cannot be supported except in the country of original sale since it would be totally impractical for every service center to stock replacement phones for each country.

In any case, the warranty is what it is, regardless of what any of us may wish for. You will need to send your iPhone back to the US for service.

Regars.

I have an Ipad bought at Indonesia, and now i am in China. Had problem with the speaker, and went to Beijing apple store, thought that they will try to fix it, but then said that my ipad still covered with warranty so got a brand new Ipad. Great

Hi! I have an iPad 3 given to me by my sister which she bought from Saudi Arabia. I am living here in the Philippines. She just sent the device and not the proof of purchase/receipt. Do you really need that to claim your warranty?

Warranty is only valid in the country of puchase.

Nope not generally true. I just called an Apple Authorized Service Provider here in the Philippines and the customer care told me to bring the device in as the warranty is still valid here eventhough the product was purchased in Saudi Arabia. So INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY is TRUE in my case. Bottomline, it's a case to case basis.

This is only true for the iPhone, with an exception for EU countries.
