Cinema display to MacBook pro 2012?

Best to SHOW you what I have:

I have a mid 2012 MacBook pro with a thunderbolt port, etc. (see image for ports).

I have an older cinema display with the elaborate box adaptor (see image for the adaptor)

My system, graphics, card (see image for system)

In addition to the elaborate connect box, the Cinema Display also has two standard USB 2 ports on the back.

Is there a way to hook them up?
