On my mac book pro Finder keeps quitting

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro.  When I wake my computer the little rainbow circle is moving.  I click on FINDER and it won't open.  I then do Option Command Esc and have to relaunch the FINDER.  Then two minutes later the same thing, and it keeps doing this over and over.  What is going on?  My computer isn't that old is it?  It's not impeding my work more like pebble in the shoe issue, but hope it's not leading to another major issue.  Any suggestions or anyone else having this issue?
