How do you get Apple support after your service...

My MacBookPro had the longest available warranty/support available at time of purchase.  That support has ended.  How can I extend my service through Apple?

You can't extend your Service Warranty, but Apple does not turn people away just because they are no longer on Apple Care or within their first year of Warranty. I had a new battery put in my 2012 Macbook Air a year ago or so. I paid for the battery and workmanship, of course, but no one turned me away at the door....

You are always welcome to make a Genius appointment and take your device in for evaluation or to go in for help with something. There is never any charge for evaluating.

Be sure to make an appointment, though.

If you bought AppleCare at the time of purchase and it has expired, then you had 3 years of full warranty coverage. There is no more extension to that.

But you can continue to take the Mac to an Apple Store even if its out of warranty if you need service.  The only difference is any service that needs to be performed on it will incur a charge rather than being free due to the warranty and Apple Care.

Just because the warranty expired does not mean Apple will not longer service your Mac. They will just not service it for free.
