I get a pop up saying need password for iCloud
It seems to be a popular complaint! I get a popup saying I need a password to used iCloud (the same ID and password I used to get here, incidentally, so it's the right ID and password). So I enter the password and hit Return (or click on the Sign In icon; tried both); the items inside the popup go from grey to nice and bright for a second; then they go back to being greyed out and the same message asking for a password. No message about a password being incorrect or anything, it just ignores what was just done.
Then if I try to sign out, I get an even more worrisome popup that says if I don't do something all the data on my Macbook Air (early 2015 version, using OS 10.12.6, BTW) will be lost. This not only does not augur well; it bodes ill.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
