MacBook 12inch 2017

I've been trying to use an external display with my 12-inch MacBook. The solution I went for was the Duet Display app with my iPad Pro 10.5-inch.

Unfortunately, the image quality on the iPad when used as a second display (extended) is very poor. I decided to try this out with my 27-inch iMac Retina 5K - when I plugged my iPad in with the USB Lightning Cable the quality was excellent and the colours very clear.

I thought it may have been to do with the USB-C adapter I was using for my MacBook so today I purchased a Lightning to USB-C cable from the Apple Store. The display quality has still not changed.

The text is quite blurry and the photograph used for the wallpaper has a large amount of colour banding.

I don't think the issue lies with the iPad or the cable, so I don't know if it's a bug with Duet Display, or an issue with the MacBook graphics settings.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

(both Macs are running High Sierra and the iPad Pro running iOS 11, all up to date)
