My sound output keeps automatically reverting t...

I pair my headphones with my computer....I see them in the list of sound devices, I select them.  But then seconds later it automatically highlights the "internal speakers" again.




This could occur if you also paired your headphones with another device, and that device effectively steals it from your Mac.

 

The solution is to un-pair it from that device, turn it off, or move it beyond Bluetooth range.



These are brand new out of the box bluetooth headphones, and this iMac is the first thing I've ever paired it with.  The thing is - I'm having no problem pairing and keeping it paired.  The computer just refuses to let me select it as the audio output device.

Bluetooth Wireless Problems


If your Wi-Fi is capable of generating a 5 GHz signal, try that.

 

 

 

 

Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this several times.

                             

Reset NVRAM/PRAM
