Disk needs to be repaired, can't be repaired, can't be opened, or reformatted.

People here said if reformatting does not work it might be a hardware problem.

From what I remember: Apple does not sell disks for this 7.1, A1342 MacBook.

Then you are hosed.

You might as well try calling them to find out for sure one way or the other.
