OS X Sierra 10.12.5 Update: Safari, Mail, App S...
After the recent OS X Sierra 10.12.5 update, many of my computer programs are not working, including: Safari, Mail, App Store, etc. They all display blank pages with nothing on them.
I ran first aid under Disk Utility, found corruption, repaired the disk in Recovery mode as prompted, tested it in Safe Mode (which worked), but I'm still have problems. All of the programs mentioned work perfectly when I'm in Safe Mode, but not when I turn on and log in to my computer normally.
What's going on? Why aren't these programs displaying pages and information? Do I need to reinstall the OS X Sierra? Please help!
*Note, I'm not a techie, so I won't understand coding jargon, etc. Hopefully, there's a relatively simple solution...?
Thank you!
Thanks for your response. I don't have any of those installed on my computer, so I don't belive that was the issue.
Anyways, I figured it out I guess: after I repaired the corrrupted disk using Disk Utility, I downloaded the newest update from the Apple website (Apple - Support - Downloads) using Google Chrome and reinstalled it. Voila! Things are back to normal
What non-Apple "anti-virus", "cleaning", and / or "security" products are installed on that Mac?
I have this question too
Go back to page 2 of the page your question is on ()bottom right) & read the answer to 'New Mac OS 10.12.5 update'.
I have tried this in trying to get my Mail to open without a black page flashing across the screen, & have a proper page which can be moved via the trackpad, & shows the menu bar at the top & icons at the bottom of the desktop.
This download has given that, although one address still has garbled dates for the messages. skernsnapper.
macOS Sierra
The fact that things work in Safe Mode attests that some stuff that you are running in normal mode is creating the problem.
Please run Etrecheck and post its report here.
This will let us know what software you have that might be involved (antivirus, "cleaners", old software...).

Hi there, I figured it out I think: after I repaired the corrrupted disk using Disk Utility, I downloaded the newest update from the Apple website (Apple - Support - Downloads) using Google Chrome and reinstalled it. Voila! Things are back to normal If you're still having the same issue, maybe try what worked for me. Thanks!
Thank you! Everything works OK now
I am having the same problem as HalesR. I have MacKeeper 3.15.2 for antivirus, cleaning and security.

And there you have it!!!
MacKeeper is a scam, it should be considered malware itself.
You should follow their instructions for uninstall, but ultimately you may have to do a clean install of the OS.
Luis I am having the same problem. I ran EtreCheck, and here is the result:

Thanks Luis. I will do that. Also, please check my EtreCheck results and let me know if there is anything else I should try before I try a clean install.
Hi HalesR,
Had the same issue and what i did was: restart in Safe Mode ( press Shift Key when Booting) and then restarted normally and things work normal now.
Looking forward for your happy reply that it solved your issue too.
Regards,
Andrei
You should uninstall Trusteer as well.
Same problem, same question, same solution.

Rule 1 of Macs is don't install junk. Uninstall "Trusteer". It is garbage that will prevent your Mac from working.
In your case you also installed "MacKeeper" which is even worse.
