I have a new iPad but do NOT want to carry over saved passwords, bookmarks, preferences, etc. I was going to use the same Apple ID as on other devices, and may consider using iCloud for the iPad.
Is there a step to avoid or perform to be certain this does not happen?
If you’re restoring your new device from a backup of the old one, you’d need to carry over that data, then go into the settings and delete things locally.
You can choose what to and not to include in iCloud, and website history is one of those choices I believe. So you can turn that off in the iCloud control panel and it will not sync between devices
