Powering on Issue

Suddenly my 2015 MacBook would not turn on. Pushing the power button did nothing. I contacted Apple. Their only response was for me to send it in with $638.00 !

I searched the internet for two days before finding a UK website that suggested holding the shift/control/alt keys while plugging in the power cord...

Bingo! it came right back to life, and works perfectly.

Apparently that reset the SMC.

I'm stunned this information is not more readily available.
