ipad iOS 11.0.2 control center use on other app...

The situation:

I'm viewing a video, document, playing a game, or browsing web pages in Safari and I want to change the brightness of the current screen.

* In previous iOS versions I could quickly access the control center with the swipe up from the bottom and it would be displayed ON TOP OF THE APP SCREEN I WAS CURRENTLY USING.  Thus, I could change the brightness to my liking while still viewing that app screen full size.

* Now in iOS 11, to access the control center while in an app, you have to continue to drag your finger up and it minimizes your active app to a thumb nail and the control center appears on the side of the screen - not on top of a full size app screen.

* This makes it very difficult to get the desired brightness for the app you're using.  So you adjust the brightness, then return to your app in full screen to see if the brightness is appropriate.  If not you do it all over again.

** While this is not a bug, it is a design issue.  For those of us who are visually sensitive, this makes a big difference.  I adjust the brightness on just about every screen I use.  It's hard to determine if the brightness is appropriate on a small thumb nail sized screen.

****  Please design a way for the brightness control to be displayed ON TOP of an app screen.

If the brightness control could be optionally added to the dock, that would be great since the dock does appear on top of an app screen with the swipe up.

Thank you.
