Watching my purchases on a TV?

Hello

Not had a TV for a while as I've just been using my Mac.

I have a lot of iTunes movies and TV shows stored on a Samsung Drive.

I want to buy a TV and plug in via USB to watch them on that.

Do all TVs recognize all drives or do I have to get a Samsung? ...and if they recognize them will I be able to play the purchased movies without any problems?
