I bought an album but it wont let me play it

I preordered an album a few months ago and today the album was released. I went to my Music and tried to play the album but it took me to Apple Music (which I don't have since I don't see it necessary) and I think it is ridiculous that I paid for an album yet now I have to pay AGAIN so that I can listen to it. 

Please explain to me why because I am very unhappy.
