Playlist Artwork Not Syncing to iPhone

I have just bought a new MacBook Pro, but for the record, the same problem was happening on my old one.

I love making playlists and selecting carefully curated artwork to match each one in iTunes, but it never syncs to my iPhone.

Both my iPhone (6) and iTunes are on their most recent update. The only solution so far seems to find those same images on my phone, and then add them through my phone as well, but if anything, this just creates double the work as playlist art created on my iPhone does not sync to iTunes either.
