Receiving "shared calendar" notifications when ...

Dear Community,

I have a problem with unwanted calendar notifications.

Default calendar which I share with my husband and son in read only mode. They share their calendars with me in edit mode.

Previous behavior and settings on my phone: I want notification of changes to their calendars but I do not want event alerts.

On my calendar I, of course, want event alerts.

My calendar is set as default in Settings. I have "Show Changes" on for husband and son. I have "Show Changes" off for my own. (New setting, didn't need that before.) I have "Event Alerts" off for husband and son and on for my calendar.

This set-up has been working well for a number of years until approximately seven days ago. Now I receive notifications when I make changes to my own calendar. In other words, I receive a notice that "Karin406 made a change to Karin406's calendar" just like I get for the other shared calendars.

Really irritating. Does anybody have a similar problem and if so, a solution?

iPhone 7, IOS 11.0.3.
