Non active iCloud ID and unable to change the a...

Good afternoon! I am trying to change my iCloud account on my Mac but it wants the password to the old iCloud account(which I do not have!) Iwent to then change apple ID password and forgotten password but he old account no longer exists is I have no access to it! Does anyone know how I can accomplish this?? I am only trying to download a program from work but it wants the old password! (Grrrrrrr.... mad face!) I appreciate any assistance from anyone in advance!
