Laptop monitor not turning off in clamshell

I am connecting 2 external screens through a dell displaylink docking station. The 2 screens are working fine, but my problem is that the main monitor is still the laptop. Even though i close the lid, the main screen is not changing, and the laptop monitor is still activated.

How do i get the laptop monitor to disconnect while closing the lid?

I have installed the displaylink software.

If you attach the extra screen directly to the laptop does it work in the clamshell mode?
