Preview misbehaves in full screen: macOS high S
I am running macOS high Sierra and in certain situations, Preview creates an empty (black screen) desktop instead of creating a new window. I would like to know if this is an expected behaviour.
Here is how this behaviour can be reproduced:
- in System Preferences, Dock, set “Prefer tabs when opening documents” to “Always”.
- Open two PDF files in Preview. They appear as two tabs.
- Put Preview in full-screen mode (by pressing the green button); now you have an additional desktop as expected.
- From “Window” menu, select “Move tab to a new Window”.
Now this is the misbehaviour: You have all the tabs still in one window. You have one additional desktop (in full screen mode) that is completely empty and misbehaves.
Note: This seems to be specific to Preview. I tried a similar scenario with Finder and the behaviour was correct.
