Mac mini mavericks upgrade to Sierra 10.12.6 an...

I had Mavericks on my mac mini (late 2012) and recently upgraded to Sierra 10.12.6.

Now my left audio jack is dead. Only the right works. I plugged stereo headphones directly into the

audio jack on the computer.

Any ideas. It's not the head phones. The preferences show equal balance. it's dead.

I also keep getting stuff about iCloud and want nothing to do with it. Could that be a problem with audio?

I would be beholden to any clues at all.
